Macbeth is a gritty, dirty cutthroat of a play. While that aspect can be a very strong influence for a designer all on its own, I also wanted to approach the play with a more streamlined and minimal sense of design to allow for a seamless, efficient look to accompany the quick pace with which the violence moves. The clean lines and graphic nature of the imagery remove the restrictions that a period set would normally impose while the back wall, comprised of eight individually moving panels, adds to the agility of the design.
